El Toledo Coffee Farm Tour
It's mid Sunday afternoon. Today began with Charlie making pancakes for breakfast to enjoy on his terrace. Later we headed just out of town to the El Toledo coffee farm for a tour led by Gabriel. He is the guide you will see in the photos. Very informative and I learned that they plant coffee plants as well as chocolate plants in the same fields mostly on the mountain side The mixture of plants helps and affects the different tastes of the coffee beans. After the tour we ate lunch at the home of the family that farm the coffee plantation.
Now we are at Charlie's home and later will drive to Alajuela to stay overnight at the Hampton Inn near the airport so that we can catch a 5:45 AM van and boat to Tortuguero for two nights at Laguna Lodge. So my blog will go "dark" for two days until we return home Wednesday afternoon at Charlie's house.

Spring Amtrak Rail Adventure March 27-April 13 - Flying to New Orleans, LA, to travel via Amtrak's City of New Orleans and Empire Builder to Seattle, WA. After a week in Seattle, I will return to New Orleans via Amtrak's Coast Starlight(Sacramento), California Zephyr(Chicago) and City of New Orleans. Return trip is compliments of Amtrak Guest Rewards points I have been earning from all my Amtrak travels for the last few years.
Via Rail and Amtrak Trip to Canada and Albany, NY, May 28 to June 15 - Traveling by Via Rail in Canada to Toronto, Montreal and Halifax, Nova Scotia. Returning to USA via Amtrak for visits to Albany, NY and New Orleans, LA.
