Hawaii March 2015 - Last Day in Honolulu - A Hui Ho "until we meet again"

I've grown accustom to this morning view from my lanai

Last Day in Honolulu - A Hui Ho "until we meet again" - The end of my stay in Honolulu is not just near, it is now.  No matter how long each visit to this island of Oahu is, part of me wants to stay on longer. On this last day and evening of this March 2015 stay, my friends Mark and Megan Lindner from Aidelaide, Australia, arrived for a nine day stay.  I met them in Waikiki and we spent the afternoon catching up first by walking and visiting the Moana Surfrider Hotel, the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, and even a nice beach walk to my room in the Rainbow Tower in the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

Now I am back in my room and have already checked in to my American Airlines flight 102 departing to Dallas Fort Worth tomorrow hopefully around 6:30 PM.  Expected arrival in Nashville is 10:35 AM Thursday morning.  Since I do not have to check out until 12 Noon tomorrow, packing for the trip home will be tomorrow morning.

While I am ready to go home, leaving Hawaii is always with melancholy.

Here are a few photos from today.

Hawaii March 2015 - Sunset Dinner Cruise on Navatek

Sunset Cruise on Navatek - Photo taken by my server

Sunset Dinner Cruise on the Navatek - Except for the first two photos below, all the photos in today's blog post are from my sunset dinner cruise on the Navatek tonight.  These first two photos are of the Great Lawn at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and my lunch Italian Sausage Dog and Shave Ice  at the neighboring Hale Koa Resort.

I really enjoyed the sunset dinner cruise on the Navatek.  All the crew on board were very friendly and the service at dinner and during the cruise was excellent.  I simply had a great time.

Here are today's photos.

Hawaii March 2015 - First Rainbow and Worship at University Avenue Baptist Church

First Rainbow - On the way to church in Manoa

First Rainbow and Worship at University Avenue Baptist Church - Traveled THE BUS from Waikiki to Manoa then walked on to University Avenue Baptist Church this morning.  When I got off THE BUS at the University of Hawaii Manoa, I saw my first rainbow this visit to Hawaii on my 11th day.  Still have only experienced light sprinkle rain.  Really enjoyed worship at University Avenue Baptist Church(UABC) and seeing several friends I made on previous trips in 2012 and 2013.  After church Phillip and Lauren Hasha took me to lunch in Manoa and then drove me home to the Hilton Hawaiian Village.  I then spent a quiet afternoon in my room and have made it almost to the end of the book I'm reading "First Phone Call from Heaven".  As the day drew near to an end another great sunset.  Interestingly each day's sunset seems to be a little different from the others depending on the cloud formations.

Here are a few pictures from today.

Hawaii March 2015 - Honolulu Landmarks, Flowers, Cruise Ship, Shave Ice and Sunset

King Kamehameha Statue

Honolulu Landmarks, Flowers, Cruise Ship, Shave Ice and Sunset - After a restful relaxing Friday, I was out today(Saturday) traveling on THE BUS and walking to downtown Honolulu to see the Hawaii State Capitol, the Iolani Palace, King Kamehameha statue, other government buildings.  Also photographed some flowers as I visited the landmarks.  From these landmark locations I walked toward the "water" and found the cruise ship NCL Pride of America in port.  While in the area I did reserve and purchased passage for Sunset Dinner Cruise Monday night on the Navatek small ship.  I'll look forward to that sunset cruise.

More walking and short THE BUS ride to the Ward Center and the Waiola Shave Ice store for another great shave ice.  After the shave ice, another THE BUS ride and walking to the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center food court and early dinner at Panda Express.  Then more walking back to the Hilton Hawaiian Village Starbucks for coffee and rest before returning to my room.  Ending the day with another great sunset and watching the departure of the cruise ship on its next week's journey around the islands of Hawaii.

Looking forward to another Sunday attending Sunday School and Worship at University Avenue Baptist Church and one last visiting time with Phillip and Lauren Hasha.
