AMTRAK ADVENTURE 2015 - Rocky Mountain High in Glenwood Springs, CO - A good day in and above Glenwood Springs as I rode sky buckets to the Glenwood Adventure Park high above the city. At over 7,000 feet the view was amazingly beautiful. The photos I took were taken on my "wobbly" legs so I was ready to descend back to the more appropriate level of the city after a couple hours. If you have the capability of enjoying very high places I highly recommend this adventure park. They have several mountain side clinging thrill rides. No, I did not ride any of the park rides. Walking was good for me.
I did have lunch while above at the park and surprisingly was more relaxed riding the sky buckets back down the mountainside. I walked the about 1/2 mile across the Colorado River to the park's entrance to the sky buckets. And then walked back to the hotel area. Since the Amtrak station is just outside my hotel room window, I walked across the street and met the 3:45 PM Westbound California Zephyr -- this is train I will depart on tomorrow afternoon.
Tonight I walked to a BBQ restaurant Modern BBQ and had very good sliced beef brisket dinner. Now I am ready for another good nights sleep and continuing on tomorrow to Emeryville, CA. Will arrive in Emeryville around 4 PM Monday Pacific Time if train is on schedule. Next planned blog update is Tuesday night.
