AMTRAK ADVENTURE 2015 - Arrived in Glenwood Springs, CO via Amtrak's City of New Orleans and California Zephyr

Hotel Denver in Glenwood Springs, CO

AMTRAK ADVENTURE 2015 - Arrived in Glenwood Springs, CO  via Amtrak's City of New Orleans and California Zephyr -  I arrived in Glenwood Springs about 3:30 PM Mountain Time this Friday afternoon.  For the first time ever for me, I was the cause that my train did the "all aboard" and actually began moving out of the station and then was stopped and delayed departing.  Why?  Well the very nice station agent lady pulled up the baggage truck and my check luggage was missing.  So she called conductor on radio and had train stopped so she could return to baggage car and retrieve my bag.  Yes, it was there.  They just did not off load with the rest of the Glenwood Springs bags.  Thankfully, there were just a few bags so the error was cost immediately as the train had begun to move.  After the train departed, the station agent actually loaded me and my bags on her golf cart type truck and brought me to my hotel so that I count avoid rolling my bags up stairs to cross the street.  And, she told me to have the hotel call Sunday when I check out and she will come back and pick me up.  Now that is "special treatment"

Travel on both the City of New Orleans and the California Zephyr was prompt and mostly on time - a very enjoyable ride.  I thought I would post some of my train photos today and then tomorrow's update will be Glenwood Springs photos.

Here are selected photos from Wednesday, Thursday, and today Friday.
