Traversing A Winter Wonderland - Thursday evening ended with photographic sunset in Eastern Utah - the first photo below. After sleeping through most of Utah and Nevada, my day began east of Reno, NV - train stop photo below - and simply became a Winter Wonderland from Reno all the way to Colfax, CA, as I crossed the Sierra Nevada Mountains. See a sampling of my "snow" photos below. I arrived my destination Emeryville, CA, about 20 minutes ahead of scheduled time. After unpacking, getting a light supper, and taking a shower I feel clean and relaxed. Tonight's update will be the last update before I get back home to Nashville Sunday evening. For the first time in my visits to California, rain is forecast for both Saturday and Sunday. If I can manage it, I plan to take Amtrak California to San Jose, CA, tomorrow looking for the Old Spaghetti Factory for lunch and then return to my room at the Hyatt House Hotel. Super Shuttle picks me up early Sunday for my American Airlines flight to Nashville via Dallas Fort Worth.

My Next 2016 TRAVEL PLANS
Costa Rica February 9-23 - I will be visiting my friend Charlie Doggett who moved to Costa Rica in December 2014. Charlie lives in Atenas, Costa Rica, and I am hoping he emerges me into his Costa Rica lifestyle. He has been planning for my time in Costa Rica for many months and I am so looking forward to being with and visiting him.
Spring Amtrak Rail Adventure March 27-April 13 - Flying to New Orleans, LA, to travel via Amtrak's City of New Orleans and Empire Builder to Seattle, WA. After a week in Seattle, I will return to New Orleans via Amtrak's Coast Starlight(Sacramento), California Zephyr(Chicago) and City of New Orleans. Return trip is compliments of Amtrak Guest Rewards points I have been earning from all my Amtrak travels for the last few years.
Via Rail and Amtrak Trip to Canada and Albany, NY, May 28 to June 15 - Traveling by Via Rail in Canada to Toronto, Montreal and Halifax, Nova Scotia. Returning to USA via Amtrak for visits to Albany, NY and New Orleans, LA.
