June 7 - The Amtrak Journey Begins

First day of a four day journey New Orleans to Los Angeles to Portland OR. First day highlight was crossing the Huey P Long Bridge over the Mississippi River. Will be crossing southern Louisiana and southeastern Texas arriving San Antonio just after midnight.  Thinking of my high school best friend Gerry Fitzgerald as I pass through the Texas Hill Country overnight.
